About

As I fill out my graduation application this gloomy afternoon I begin to look back on my time at school; the people I have met, the places I have lived and the things that I have really learned over the years in such a demanding journalism school.

Classes come and go, professors, too. But there are those certain things that I will carry with me forever. I have stored in my long-term memory a very select few individuals and ideas. From there, I hold onto skills and theories that I deem useful in my field and I practice those daily. I have all of this because of Ohio University.

I study Strategic Communication in the Scripps School of Journalism. I have a minor in Marketing and internship experience with various Social Media. I have worked in many environments from customer service to banking. I have an overwhelming interest in communication across all platforms and with any medium. My X-Factor? For some reason, people think I’m funny.

There is something so comforting about being in the presence of ‘funny people’. You laugh without trying, joke without thinking twice, and enter a comfort zone almost immediately. My challenge to myself for 2015 is to understand where the line is between ‘funny’ and ‘was that too far?’ online.
